One more starter/breakfast/tea-time snack for the lazy cook. Well, am not calling you names; but this is for those who want things done quickly and dont want to slave in the kitchen. Well am lazy at times too….and this is what I churn out when am in that mode. Easy, no fuss, no pain…..only gain…… so go on try it.
I think have posted it earlier somewhere, but this time new batch with new pictures…so there you go.
Ingredients :
1 Packet Puff Pastry Squares
1 Packet of sausages or franks
1 egg beaten
Tomato ketchup 1 tablespoon
Chilly Powder 1 teaspoon or more
Little oil/butter
Separate the Pastry Squares and lay them flat on a counter for them to thaw. (This helps or else the squares clump together after they are thawed and then it is not so easy to separate them). Split sausages into two and saute them in a pan with little oil/butter. Add chilly powder and ketchup. Keep aside.
Arrange a sausage slice on the thawed Pastry Square and roll it like a jelly-roll. Press the edge to fold. Place them on a baking sheet {seam-side down}and with a sharp knife made wedges on the surface of each roll. Brush with egg. Bake for 15-20 minutes in a 180 deg C preheated oven till they are puffed up and are golden brown.
